Buggy coasting messes up print

Hello,

today I tried the Pathio slicer with a test cube and I like the interface, however I ran into some trouble after tinkering with some settings.

My test cube was printing fine until suddenly the print head started moving towards origin point X0 Y0 Z0 and back to printing, crashing the hotend into print (as the height was reduced) and leaving a long string in the process. This repeated two times and went back to printing normally. After some layers the same thing happened again launching my print cube in to the air as the print head homed in on the print from origin point being too low.

Looking through the GCode generated by Pathio I found 18 following commands under comment Coast:
G1 X0.00 Y0.00 Z0.00 F4200 ; Coast
And indeed this problem was not apparent before enabling coasting.
Moreover there were strange lines like: G1 F4200 ; Coast

I attach an excerpt from GCode as well as an image from gcode analysis in cura.

Hopefully you can resolve the issue in upcoming versions as well as add more controllable features.

Mostly I miss the ability to print a thicker (or thinner) wall than track width by extruding more (or less) plastic instead of doing zig-zag motion (which is way slower and results in not even outer shell). wall_extrusion

Aww shucks,

This issue is top priority for us at the moment. We’re working on it.

For the mean time, if you turn off coasting, you should be all good!

Sorry about that…

Thanks for notifying us!

Daniel

Same issue here. I am using this for i3 Mega. or any workaround to try other things.

FYI, this is on track to be fixed today. I’m not 100% certain when the next release will be, but rest assured that we’re on it!
